Vincent Roberts has been working as a writer/author for more than 25 years. In that time, he has also been a journalist/newspaper reporter, a mental health consultant, a certified pawn broker and a bartender.
Vincent was born in Pennsylvania on August 29, 1963, the youngest of six children. Endowed with a creative and inquisitive mind, he began putting pencil to paper at age five or six, and by age 13, he was already producing short stories, some of which are contained, fully formed, in his published short story collection.
After high school, he spent five years at Luzerne County Community College and Kutztown State University studying Journalism, Social Studies and Secondary Education. His first job out of college was as a mental health advocate. This difficult but very rewarding work developed in him a special understanding and empathy for the fragility of the human psyche. Vincent did this work for 13 years.
In 1996, as a result of a promise made to his father, Vincent moved to Florida. He became a certified pawn broker and worked in that field for 14 years. Do interesting characters frequent pawn shops? Yes they do and they would be flattered to know that bits and pieces of them might be memorialized in Vincent’s books.
Vincent’s current job as a bartender at an upscale hotel in “America’s Friendliest Hometown” keeps him busy and fulfilled. There is mutual affection between him, his customers and co-workers.
Vincent’s novels include his latest, RUN FRANK RUN, as well as: EVANGELINE BISHOP, WANDERING STRANGERS, MINDMAZE, ‘O’ MAJORITY, THE SINS OF LOST BRIDGE ISLAND, HUNGRY DWELLER , and FLINCH, a collection of short stories. Two of the short stories have been expanded into the novellas UNIT 11 and TRAVELS.
His gothic ETERNALS series includes: LUCY’S NIGHTMARE, THE RAVEN MOCKER, DEEDS OF DARKNESS, INDIGO MOON, THE SCARLETT WITCHES and UNHOLY TAPESTRY.
Vincent creates solid stories and is becoming known for the many surprising and imaginative twists and turns in his plots. His characters are deep and poignant, even when they are “evil”. And really, there is a fine line between good and evil, reality and fantasy. His genre(s) can be described as dark fiction, horror, thrillers (both psychological and supernatural) gothic and adventure.

Frank is on a business trip when an unexpected event forces him to stop at a motel to rest for the night. He goes across the street to a bar to have a drink before he turns in. He meets a beautiful woman and anticipates an enjoyable night of romance. Suddenly, Frank’s world is turned upside down. Everything goes black. He wakes up to agonizing pain, disturbing dreams and dark nights of the soul. His life has been stolen from him. Old beliefs are destroyed as a new reality emerges. Sex, which he likes as much as the next red-blooded man, is elevated to new and erotic heights. Escape is never out of his mind. Things begin to improve when Frank is finally provided with a way out of this torment. Run, Frank, Run! And then all hell breaks loose.
EVANGELINE BISHOP
It is 1929 and Evangeline Bishop is dying. Her family is notified and they make their way , from different corners of the country, to the Louisiana plantation perched on the banks of the Mississippi River. Evangeline is a wealthy woman and the family expects to witness her death and, more importantly, the reading of her will. Their expectations do not prepare them for what they find. The grounds are in ruin. The manor house is a dusty and moldering heap, steeped in family history, with a provocative and sinister life of its own. Dark magic is afoot. The household servants are … peculiar. As Evangeline stubbornly holds onto life, her family begins to experience strange and terrifying visions. They turn on each other in confusion, greed and rage. In the end, they just want to go home
UNIT 11: a novella
Marvin, a 13 year old boy, is delivered, by his parents, to a facility that specializes in children’s’ problems. Marvin is not aware that he has a condition that needs to be addressed, but he goes along with the program because he has no other choice. While there, he encounters other young people like himself and begins to develop warm feelings and form friendships with them. He also must contend with a doctor who provides dubious support, nurses who show only marginal compassion for the children in their care, and an orderly who is sinister and corrupt. Unit 11 is purported to be the treatment mecca at the facility and the children yearn to go there. However, as the young patients are promoted to Unit 11, one-by-one, Marvin overhears disturbing gossip among the staff. He begins to have doubts about Unit 11 and whether that is really the place for him.
TRAVELS: a novella
It all begins as a normal day at the Randolph Historical Museum. The museum attendant, Rose Crane, is the first one in the building that Monday morning and is barely ready to face the day. She never imagines that the new exhibit of The North Berwick Witch Trials will result in such horror and consequence for herself and the other museum visitors.
MINDMAZE
Mike is the average guy living in middle class America with his new wife and a hectic job with a pharmaceutical company. Suddenly, one phone call from an old friend changes the course of his being. He finds himself torn between the bizarre requests he’s receiving from his life long pal Dylan and his longing to live a normal existence with his beautiful wife McKenzie. As time goes by, Dylan seemingly appears and then reappears in Mike’s world. Blackmail forces him to conceal the truth about his friends’ ghastly crimes that span the east coast from Pennsylvania to Florida and back. Mike plunges deeper and deeper into the mind maze Dylan has created but he’s well aware the secrets can’t remain hidden forever. During this time, Mike is also dealing with gaps in his memory stretching as far back as his youth…periods others recollect but he cannot. Slowly, the pieces of the puzzle lock together with numerous twists and turns until the horrific crimes, the missing memories and his relationships with McKenzie and Dylan erupt into a frenzied climax.
‘O’ MAJORITY: SECOND EDITION
It’s 2040 and the world is addicted to opioid drugs. Overdose deaths are mounting at an alarming rate. In the USA, the drugs are being controlled by the ‘O’ MAJORITY, an organization that includes big pharma, big business, corrupt doctors, and over half the Washington, D.C. politicians, including the President and the First Lady. Money, power and, of course, the seduction of the drugs are the motivators for the poisonous scheme. The latest atrocity is the development of an opioid-laced soft drink that has widespread and unregulated distribution, cynically targeting the youth of America. The resistance movement to destroy the opioid conspiracy is spearheaded by the combined forces of the SLEEPING DRAGON and the DISCIPLES of TOMORROW. When the ‘O’ MAJORITY begins deliberately murdering the rebels, they fight back with strength and determination. Across the USA, the battle begins, wages and ends with apocalyptic results.
HUNGRY DWELLER
A diverse group of people travel to an elite luxury resort in the South Pacific. They begin their journey in high spirits and look forward to retreating from their hectic lives for a much-anticipated tropical vacation. Soon, suspicions begin to take root as the facade of the prosperous resort begins to crumble. And then, nature has another plan. Hurricane season delivers a massive storm that disrupts their idyllic holiday, transporting them to a place that none of them could have anticipated. Within this tropical paradise, dark secrets prevail and vicious evil dwells as lives are torn apart. Heroes are born as human nature and wickedness diverge and merge again while an ancient hunger relentlessly continues to grow.
WANDERING STRANGERS
The world as we know it has ended through a series of over fifty meteor blasts around the globe. Day isn’t day anymore as the earth has entered into a brand new mini ice age. In the Houston area, through a few quick radio transmissions, Drake Munroe, a mechanic, has made contact with a woman named Carolyn King. He realizes he has to find a way to help this woman he’s never met. Drake and a handful of survivors begin a dangerous one-thousand mile trek across the southern United States, believing, the closer they get to the equator, the milder the climate will be. Drake, coupled with Zack, a used car salesman, Shireen, a pet shop owner, and Katie, an emergency room nurse, become the leaders of an odd assortment of people. They use any and every resource possible to find their way to Florida to save Carolyn. Each one has their own moment of fear as the come face to face with wild animals, volcanos, gorges, earthquakes, scorching acid rain and even murderers. as they move down Interstate-10, they meet other survivors who may or may not join them. Gwen, an equestrian, Granger, a fourteen year old boy, Maddie, who’s seven months pregnant, and William, a physician, are just a few of the last people left on earth.
THE SINS OF LOST BRIDGE ISLAND
In the tiny community of Lost Bridge Island, a homeless man bursts in on the middle of Sunday services, warning the residents that the purest form of evil has been unleashed and, until they identify and eliminate it, they will all fall one by one. Hours later, a violent car accident kills two of the congregation and injures two others. Soon, the island begins to experience bizarre and horrific happenings. Weather conditions change. Radios and cell phones stop working. Residents receive visits from the dead. Then the Oak Shadows Bridge collapses and cuts them off from the rest of the world. As Satan’s reign takes control, each person must fight for their own survival.
FLINCH: A COLLECTION OF SHORT STORIES
FLINCH is a collection of 9 short stories that deal with bizarre and occasional horrific themes. INTO THE DARKNESS deals with a woman being tormented in her dreams by an unknown predator. UNIT 11 is a strange tale that takes place on a children’s ward at the state asylum in the 1970’s. THE HUSTLER is a short snippet about a young man trying to make his way through life turning tricks but never realizing the dangers he could face. A SUMMER OF CHANGE is about a teenage boy who finds a new friend to spend his summer days with…a friend that isn’t what he seems. LESSONS LEARNED shows a woman and her lover who plans to murder her husband during a violent hurricane. Things don’t always go as planned. WEEKEND GETAWAY is a story about Brian who goes off on a boating trip for the weekend with his lifelong friend and other guests. The party gets a little out of hand. DEAR DIARY is about young woman’s diary entries of her deranged world in the distant future and what mankind has become. THE BEST DAY OF HIS LIFE is a tale of a man and his thoughts, sitting in a dark room waiting for absolution…or not. TRAVELS is about an exhibit in a local museum where the visitors and museum attendant suddenly find themselves living in another time and place.
THE ETERNALS BOOK 1:
LUCY’S NIGHTMARE
The first book of the Eternal series. The Eternals are a superior race of supernatural beings that have roamed the earth for thousands of years in search of a place where they could find peace. These vampire like creatures don’t require blood to exist. Instead they absorb the life force from their human victims in order to remain young and powerful. After settling into a new home, Paris (once a scientist and explorer from Ancient Greece), Paulo (once a soldier to Nero In the Roman Empire), and Selene (once a handmaiden to Cleopatra in Ancient Egypt) discover Lucy, a battered young wife surviving in the mountains in post Civil War northern Georgia. The Eternals find it imperative to help Lucy out of her critical situation before it’s too late.

THE RAVEN MOCKER
The Eternals are a superior race of supernatural beings that have roamed the earth for thousands of years in search of peace. these vampire-like creatures don’t require blood to exist, instead they absorb the life force from their human victims in order to remain young and powerful. Once again, life unravels for the Eternals as Selene is faced with puzzling glimpses of the future and a mysterious redheaded woman, Paris is struck down with debilitating headaches that can’t be explained, and Paulo vanishes into thin air and can’t be found. Soon enough, the Eternals are forced to face off against the Raven Mocker and the Scarlet witches of Savannah, culminating in a horrifying final battle for existence.
THE ETERNALS BOOK 3:
DEEDS OF DARKNESS
The Eternals enter into their third installment of he series as a dark figure at the front door casts an ancient incantation on them. Eventually, Lucy wakesfrom a dark sleep and finds herself fourteen years into the future in Colorado. The most startling part for her isn’t that they have moved into the future but the fact that she’s somehow been transformed into a blood-guzzling vampire. Soon, Paulo, Paris and Emmitt find themselves in similar positions, trying to find their way back to each other. As the years pass by, the Eternals discover that every other supernatural being on earth has also been changed into something different through a domino effect. The Eternals are introduced to changelings, werewolves, mermaids and even an alien race. Again, the Scarlett witches play an intricate role in helping the Eternals while also trying to recover their own family. When Lucy realizes she has the gift to help others, she forms committees to help the species unite with their own kind. Paris finds himself deep in the Himalayan mountains once again, living in the Lost City, where he is treated as a traitor and a lowly vampire. As one of the Eternals finally figures out who cast the ancient spell, they try to find a way to reverse it. The story weaves back and forth through each life, leaving only more fear and questions as time reveals itself.
ETERNALS BOOK 4:
INDIGO MOON
The struggle to find their own kind continues for the Eternals, witches, werewolves and even humans. Paris is till trapped in the lost city in the clutches of the evil Diana. Paulo, Lucy, Rebecca, Sebastian and the Scarlett witches are forced to work together to help all the supernatural beings make sense of what has happened as each one battles with their own demons.
ETERNALS BOOK 5:
UNHOLY TAPESTRY
After many years of amnesia brought about by past trauma, Selene finally begins to retrieve her memories. She starts to actively participate in life once more. Her life becomes tumultuous as she creates new eternal beings, for a while she enjoys the successful growth of her Eternal family. She must also endure the painful failures of new lives that are not meant to be. She and her growing family encounter ancient enemies who present themselves in disguised form and threaten the lives of the Eternals. But, most profoundly, Selene continues to search for her one true love that will fill the void within her psyche. She ultimately discovers secrets that stretch the limits of good and evil and challenge the very foundation of her existence. Old loves and adversaries are no longer what they seem to be. Vengeance and redemption are indelibly woven into the unholy tapestry of Selene’s life as she vows a mighty revenge.
THE SCARLETT WITCHES
When a freak catastrophe strikes the Scarlett Witches, Astrid and Thomas travel through time to find the origins of the evil that eats away at the center of their existence. Ancient powers, that were never meant to be mingled, are misused and create havoc in the lives of the Scarlett coven and others like them.
